Not easy to be black - what about blue?!

Last week, when we started our Monday film nights, there was an amazing complaint: some people didn’t feel like watching Americans playing Africans! Well well well, we are eagerly expecting their comments this time as we are taking it much further: on 1 February at 8:30pm at The Gardens you can see Americans actually becoming aliens on an exotic moon called Pandora! We are going to present Avatar, a fantastic film that has already overtaken Titanic as the highest grossing movie ever (and is by the same director, James Cameron). Deep in the unbelievable forests somewhere far far away, you will see colonisers, development workers and a white messiah, blue natives who are (of course) the good guys, plus lots of action and romance. We are showing you our pirate copy only as an appetiser, we advise you to later go to a real cinema, possibly with a 3D projection, and be blown away. Avatar’s world is breath-taking, seriously. Not convinced yet?! This film is, finally, a technological breakthrough - it was not possible before computers got strong enough to render convincing creatures in complex worlds. The blue creatures, especially their faces, look real!
