2010

Hello folks, Lemme start by wishing you a wonderful 2010. Many people did not make it through to see it. You should all join me in thanking God for allowing us to make it this far. Many a time we take things for granted. I am very pessimistic hence for me every day is a new year and I live to celebrate it as such. The year found me sound asleep. I went to bed 20 minutes before the new year rolled in. I was very tired. In the morning I asked wifey if people had made noise as they always do and she was surprised that I had slept off so fast. I don’t take particular interest in joining the crowds because I believe it doesn’t mean much. If you are poor you will still wake up poor, make resolutions which like their relatives before come to pass. The above notwithstanding, this year marks a continued assault on our freedom of movement by terrorists. The underwear bomb has caused great inconveniences and the already cumbersome searches at airports are going to become worse. If you thought taking off belts and shoes was bad, wait till the full body scanner reveals that you have had one testicle removed, short manhood, twin towers etc. I dread travelling now. The new plane models arew going to come with a ” fasten seatbelt” sign when you see a bearded man going to the loos. Such signs were in the past reserved for turbulence, take off and landing. We have also been advised that if one travels to listed countries, including Nigeria, you will be subjected to serious security checks. My heart goes out to all people who hail from these countries. Having said all the above, lemme bow out now and leave you to enjoy the year thus far. Cheers, Deox
