Selfish or selfless- siamese twins

It happened on Sunday evening when a very dear friend of mine sat at the side of a pool in deep reflection on the path of their life....enjoying a moment by themselves to be themselves and stare at life square in the face. Infact so intense was their reflection that they did not hear the footsteps that hurried to commit this evil deed! Suddenly! A sharp pain caused by a heavy blow to thier head and they were out for about, was it 5 or was it 10 min? was it seconds- they could not tell....when they came to, they felt a sharp pain on their right elbow, then the left, then their right knee, or was it the left or both at the same time....the pain confusing their senses....and then the ankles......the attackers making every effort to make sure my dear one would not be able to grab hold of them or run from them leaving them totally defenseless.....and when it seemed like nothing else could be worse, four sharp blows to the head with a hard metallic object and my dear friend lost consciousness.........!It is not often that one wakes up to find themselves in a pool of their own blood but that is the story of this very friendly person I call dear! Knowing that if you do not get up and make it to the nearest person, you will die and being in a position where your limbs and arms seem disassociated from your brain as though not part of the same body! I picture them dragging themselves, desperate to find someone who will help....
