Never to be Robbed again!

I walked into the office this morning, and found a shocked colleague who simply said, "they cleaned us out!"On further investigation, I got to learn how he had gotten home last night at about 8:00pm only to find a ransacked house with all the electronics gone. As if that was not enough, the thieves had decided to check through all the envelopes in his brother's room, to find his ATM pin number already having gotten his ATM card. This friend of mine, went to report the matter to the area police who could not be bothered because it was late. They sent him to the station about a further 5km away to report the matter. At this station, he was informed that there being no forensics expert, he had to go to the next Police station to look for one- a further 5km or so away. Finally he got the necessay guys to do the job (this being at about 11pm) and headed back home to have his house dusted with that annoying grey powder. At about 1am, the Police called it quits and left saying that they would inform him if anything came up. We sat in the office coming up with theories on who had done it and even came up with our list of suspects like the two gatemen- one who was conviniently away during the crime and his colleague who though around was inside the landlord's house ironing clothes. The police had no suspects!!! What made it worse was that between last night and this morning, the thieves made withdrawals from the brother's account! And guess what- the bank did not have any cameras installed within the ATM booth. I mean no wonder this particular bank has been robbed more than 2 times in the very recent past. The whole affair reminded me of my experience. Apparently, a car drove into the estate. The guy stopped at the second house and tried the padlock. He then came down to our house and disappeared round the back. He spent considerable time there and when he returned, he was carrying a Tv and kept making rounds with stuff. He then entered his car and drove off. This account was given to us by the stupid guard and our neighbour's sister who watched everything happening. When asked why they did not stop the guy in the first place, they said he was well dressed and drove a car!!!! When we reported the matter to the police, they said, "we will be in touch- we need to find suspects..." My foot! My suspects were right there- how did the guy know which two houses to visit to check for tricycle padlocks unless he had been informed by someone who had access to the houses!???! In a related matter, a guy drove into an estate and up to one house that had a maid. He told the maid that her master, Eddie (for he had somehow got to know the name) had told him to come home and wait for him there. The maid in a bid to impress her master decided that that would be a good time to go and buy tomatoes so that she could prepare lunch for them. When she had left, the man opened the house with his master key and helped himself to anything he wanted. The maid came home to an empty house and an interesting tale to relay to her master. And again after dusting the house with their stupid powder, the police had no suspects!!!!! Towards the end of last year (I think) an MTN employee was robbed right in the middle of the night. The armed robbers took his stuff and then raped his wife had given birth a month before! MTN staff and the company contributed to refurbishing his house but nothing could be done to help his wife! And yes- the police had no suspects!!!!!! I feel so sad that tomorrow someone I know is going to go through the pain of having their hard earned belongings simply snatched by selfish idiots who believe that we have access to some money tree they cannot get to........my prayer is that every thief will suddenly be arrested today either by our good old police or by God! Either way, every thief will pay today for the sins they have committed against those who have worked hard to earn what they possess! I also pray that none of you and none of my friends will ever have to experience any of the above incidents ever! Amen!
