"We are a Nation of Thieves and Lying is the Common Language"- I heard this quote not long ago. And it is true, sad to say. For some contries it is more true and more prevalent than others but basically it is true for any and all nations that I know of.You might say, that your in your nation, thieving and lying is only done in small an insignificant ways. In "The Parable of the Talents" (Matt 25:14-30) it says in verses 21 and 23 "His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'". So if you are stealing and lying in small things, wouldn't you be the unfaithful servant?

Honesty tagging… posted on April 30, 2009 - 10:30am

I was tagged by Mr. B2B and Tandra. I guess everyone now knows the rules so I don’t need to go into detail.

Some truths about myself…

1. I am very shy. Most people are actually surprised about this when they do find out about this because when I do meet most people, I seem to have it all together but it is a ‘front’.
2. In a state of pain, feeling of total abondment, great amount of sorrow and massive confusion about what lay ahead in the future, I was tempted to convert to Islam when I was in high school. Imagine that!
3. One of my most embarrassing moments is the time I almost drowned when my swimming was really bad and I headed out into the deep end of the pool. A friend actually had to help me out of that fix. Mbu I was trying to show off to impress the boys.
4. I do not like my Christian name.
5. At one point in my life, the thought of being a lesbian was very appealing.
6. Friendship is very important to me. I am closer to and love some of my friends more than I do my sister.

And Other Overheard conversations... “The one thing I cannot do without after my family are my Firebase Boys. I need to know that they are fine every time. I can’t live without them. They give me reason to work harder. They are my constant reminder that life can change and that I can change someone’s life. “ Bobi Wine, Ugandan singer responsible for such songs like Mazzi Mawanvu, Kiwani, Taata w’Abana Casual Ugandan Speak “Baganda, ha! They are total hypocrites. Me I can’t trust them. There is a way they are not straight people. They can pretend and greet you but in their hearts, you know they hate you as long as you are not a Muganda. They wait for an opportunity to turn on you. The day this government goes, you wait and see. They are bad, bad, bad people! Me I can’t trust them. I know them! As long as you are not a Muganda, you can never be one of them. They wait and wait until the time is right for them to strike you down.”

Peer pressure is a terrible thing, especially in adults. I fell prey to it Tuesday and finally let down my resolve to never ever put beads in Ella's hair. Her Baganda Aunties have been pressuring me for a while, as has the little tyke herself. "It's HER hair" they exclaim, and my response always is, "buy I'M the one that makes it." But my weakness got to me Tuesday, hence Ella's head looking like a craft project. There aren't many, and they're not staying in for long but THERE. I did it! The child has had beads in her hair! Now maybe L and her Baganda Aunties will get off my case... Wink

Its amazing how even with my Christian faith anything that I have heard throughout my lifetime that was somewhat superstitious kind of does affect me apart from Friday the 13th and the meeting a woman in the morning though considering that I am one this wouldn’t apply to me I guess. But the superstitions that affect me the most are those that have to do with death for example when I was eight Bosco my brother’s friend said that there was this bird that if it looked down and its head feathers shot up it meant that you parents were going to die- up to now there is this park I pass full of those birds and trust me I avoid eye contact. Which makes me wonder shouldn’t like out grow stuff like that by now?.Then there was this one I remember growing up that if you see an owe it means some one has crossed over hence you are getting news of the death of a loved one.

are there certain things you believeabout men and relationships that can actually beHURTING your chances at real and lasting love? Tell me if you agree with any of thesestatements about men:-Men like a challenge. They like the chase. If you're too "easy" or approachable, they'll get bored or lose interest.-Men are dominant in relationships and women therefore are unable to express themselves.-Men cheat and are incapable of being monogamous.-Men would secretly love to date and sleep with different women the rest of their life rather than just have to stay with one serious committed relationship.-Men just want to have fun and "freedom" and no responsibility. Did you find yourself nodding at any of these? Do you feel like having a fulfilling and connected relationship would be easy if it weren't

Strangely, I've always wanted to appear natural in your picture. Not excessively gifted by nature with a beautiful face or striking looks; just real. I thought you would place me in an old rustic kitchen, nothing like the ones we have these days... One with cold water and concrete slabs; no modern artifacts to marr the scene. I pictured a cheery little fire place breathing warmth into the room where I'd stand in an old blue dress. I'd have an apron of course, it'd be white with stains of soot from when soiled hands strayed unconsciously. They'd be an old toothless black dog asleep at my feet on the cold stone floor and a wooden table at the centre of the room loaded with a colourful assortment of fruits and vegetables.... My hair would be wild, tangled in the way only sea breezes can or perhaps the eager fingers of an amateur lover.

End of April simply translates into the start of May which annoyingly translates into the start of books all again which even more annoyingly translates into me giving the ever affable Bloggsville a rude break to widen the gulf between me and illiteracy. Its sad I know and I thought I'd leave you all with what kind of life I expect to live in the next 8 months now that I have dropped all my corporate traits and handed in my resignation to the C.E.O.

My reason for travelling will not be disclosed but for some reason I was fascinated by different things.Well, I had to book myself into a hotel for the night. Across the horizon I could notice a pink lacework as the sun was beginning to set west of this blessed town. I walked looking for a hotel that would suit the money I had. Not that I am a broke guy but coke was paying the bills. Thanks to them by the way. Along the main street as buildings began to light up, a hotel. I’d rather not mention its name. Confidentiality is of the essence. So I got the counter. The manger, casually dressed in blue round necked shirt welcomed me to the hotel and the usual hullabaloo.
